2017 interior design trends

The office environment has become increasingly home-like in recent years. The office wants to create a cozy place where you can feel comfortable and comfortable. Many people are looking for ideas for home decor trends when it's time to renew your office decor. But what will be the hottest interior trends in 2017? And how could they be applied to office furnishings? AJ designer Elin Basander André answers these questions and delves deep into this year's interior design trends.

The white walls are now replaced by deep colors

This year, the cold shades of white and gray will be replaced by deep and warm colors that will add a wonderfully luxurious feel L shaped desk width.

"Of the walls, dark green in particular, but equally burgundy, dark purple, dark blue and brown, are now popular colors," says Elin. Different shades of the same color can also be combined, Elin goes on, for example, a mossy green wall could add several different shades of green to the interior. You can also create contrasts. For example, combine a burgundy base color with orange or pastel pink.

Trendy colors are now in the trend. But still, no worries, if your office is furnished with light furniture, they will fit very well into this year's color palette.

Art Deco, bohemian and revamped Industrial style are now on the wave brush

- This year, we will see more and more 20th and 30th century Art Deco-style interiors. Think of luxurious materials such as velvet, silk, metallic details, graphic designs and dark colors that contrast with bright colors. They bring accents to the interior, Elin says.

- Bohemian decor with lots of patterns and vibrant colors is also popular now. It exudes personality and creativity.

This year, there is a bit of 70s mixing in bohemian style. The style is perfect for those who love details, retro finds, natural materials, clay and ceramics.

- Industrial style has been popular for some time, but this year the Industrial style will be renewed. The style is more intense and inspired by graffiti, among other things. The industrial style can also be combined with a small amount of sportiness. Start with an industrial interior with a dark gray color, for example, and contrast it with strong tones that just pop into your eyes, like bright red or neon colors, Elin instructs.

Small details, big notes

If it is not possible to paint the walls of the office, the look of the office can be styled with trendy interior details. It is an easy and quick way to remodel your interior. As a general rule, working with contrasts is a good guideline.

- Boldly combine glossy and matte metals, coarse and smooth natural materials or fabrics with different surfaces. In turn, you get cozy office space by bringing stylish rugs there, Elin suggests.

Bring nature in

In 2017, big, green plants will boldly take their place in the office. They not only create a comfortable and lively environment but also improve indoor air quality. There are also many wallpapers with large floral patterns. By combining real plants with plant wallpaper, this style creates a very interesting space. If there is not enough space for large plants and you want to keep the interior less sparse, a small plant terrarium can be used as a decorative detail. Or why not build some fun forest-like atmosphere with green moss, which releases natural moisture into the room, but also dampens the sound.
